October. . .

October. . .

Our Sunday Drive on a Haunted Highway...

"The winding hillside known as Prospector Road is considered one of the most haunted roads in the Gold Rush Country. It's pavement runs over old mines, old claims, and the bodies that lived it's history. In some cases, the collapse of tunnels gave minors premature burials, some died as a result of being eliminated by other greedy miners...

As with the age-old stories of prospecting and claim jumping, many a foolish miner who bragged a bit too openly about his "find" was coincidentally lost among the hills of Prospector. Thier bodies were often never recovered, and more often never looked for. It is known that many spirits roam the Prospector hills, and at least one is still seeking the gold he never recovered while having his life cut short while trying..."

So we drove along the road reading about ghost stories that happened along the very road...

at one point, unknown to me. . . Kyle screams and slams on the brakes. . . As Kyle is laughing so hard he cannot continue driving the rest of us are screaming! I so wish he would have let me in on that little trick. . . the reaction from the kids (and from me) were priceless!

We ended our drive at a Pioneer Graveyard and spent almost an hour looking at all the dates and names on the very old headstones. . .

We also took our trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

This one couldn't decide on just one!

And this one thought talking to the pumpkin might make the decision easier. . .

Apparently, it worked.

These two just hung out with each other the entire night. . .
My bookends I call them.

And we just sat back and watched it all. . .

yep. love.

THEN it was time to carve those pumpkins. . .

This one opted for power tools this year.

This one thought he was big enough to do it all by himself. . .
and he did.
Gutted and carved from start to finish. . .

This one gutted 3 of the 4 pumpkins. . .
She loved it!

And this one. . .
well he wasn't so sure about any of it!

COSTUMES. . .

My little cowboy. . .
without a hat. . . not having the hat this year!

This cowgirl had a hat. . . and wouldn't take it off!
She was so cute!

And Uncle Si!
Kris played it perfectly!

And Kale, well Kale opted for a hoodie sweatshirt of Captain America!
When will the awkward years of "its not cool to dress up" be over????

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
(I'll take any excuse I can get to dress up!)
