I think we were busy on Saturday

WHO made the game winning out on FIRST BASE in his game on Saturday?

That would be KALE!

And who had her eyes closed she was so nervous and didn't get an actual photo of that game winning catch on first base?

That would be MOM!
(but this was another out he made during the game)

I don't think the boys were excited at all by winning 11 to 10!

This kid amazes me with his power!
He may not be the best player on the team -
but he puts effort into it!

We had just come from Kristopher's game earlier that morning and as these BIG boys were huddled around their coach I couldn't help but think of the difference only a few years can make.

Here's Kristopher's team huddled around their coach.
It makes you realize how fast time goes by.

So Kristopher received the game ball for his "quickness"
in his game on Saturday.

In T-ball everyone bats and there are no outs -
so when the last batter hits all the players run the bases to home.
Kris happened to be last batter this week.
So after he hit the ball the coach had told him to run all the way home -
and home he ran. . .
passing two of his own players on his way to home plate!

And if that wasn't enough excitement in our family for one Saturday
Kale also participated in his very 1st Pinewood Derby

Check out that car - just like he wanted.
Gold with a Red Stripe!

And his car got him this award

Too bad Mom and Dad weren't there to see the car race -
we had a fundraiser dinner we attended that night so Kale went with a buddy of his from the ward and had a great time.

I'm always amazed at everything that you can fit into one day when you have to!

Here's something I never thought I'd say. . .

KRISTOPHER'S an ANGEL!

and after 4 long seasons of watching his big brother play baseball
 it was his turn tonight.

He had some great hits!
He had some great stops!
(although of course the time I take the picture the ball gets by him)
He was a great little catcher!

And he even slipped a few slides into his game as well!

But what I want to know is what happened to T-ball?
Isn't my little boy supposed to be playing in the dirt
and picking the dandelions out of the grass?
(I mean look at the other kid in this picture)
Isn't that what T-ball is all about?

Not with Kris.
It is all business.

I mean look at the concentration on his face.
This kid BROUGHT IT!

And if you think I'm exaggerating -
This is Kris yelling at me to stop taking pictures of him

"It's making me not concentrate"

were his exact words.

I couldn't help but remember back to when he was 2 and he would sit on the couch with his baseball glove and watch an entire baseball game from beginning to end and would get mad when the commercials came on because he thought I had changed the channel.

IT'S YOUR TURN NOW BUDDY!

I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW AND WHAT DID I SEE?

imagine me singing. . .

POPCORN POPPING
ON THE APRICOT TREE!

I'm really glad that it is looking more and more like spring outside
because
inside it feels like the winter blues.
My whole family either has a fever, is coughing up lungs, or has runny noses that won't go away.

This gives me hope.
I love the blossoms on my persimmon tree.

And why can't I get my gardenias to bloom this beautifully in this pot?
You have to admit this plant looks healthy, vibrant, and happy to be there. . .
Too bad it's STINGING NEDEL or I'd let it stay forever!

We had a little leprechaun at our house today!

Here is our little leprechaun now. . .

and all day he used his "magic" magnifying glass. . .

to find leprechaun footprints leading to the
POT O' GOLD. . .

And by the end of the day

HE FOUND IT!

and. . .
last year we must have had baseball games
or something crazy on St. Patrick's Day
because to be festive
we had "lucky charms" for dinner.

I think I'm starting a tradition.

You can't imagine how much I got done today
knowing that for dinner
I had to stick a box with some milk on the table.
My kids love it
I love it
and
my husband puts up with it for one night a year.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO EVERYONE!

Today I will be . . .

EATING all of these. . .

with the purpose of finding those few M&M's without the PEANUT.

Today is my mom's birthday
and this is a tradition I do every year on her birthday.

I don't really know how it started,
I just know whenever my mom would find a peanut M&M without a peanut she would let out a little "wahoo" shout.

It probably started because my entire family loves peanut M&M's,
but whoever knows my mom knows she was a plain M&M girl,
but if you also knew my mom you knew she would never spulrge to buy both -
I'm sure she would buy the peanut M&M's for her family
and then find the joy in finding the one's she liked.
That's my mom for you.

Thanks mom for teaching me through M&M's what motherhood is all about!

LOOK, they really DO exist!

Rainbows, Puddles and Race Car Helmets?

Yesterday we saw the most amazing RAINBOW!
I know all rainbows are beautiful.
But this one was unbelievable.
A full rainbow right over our house. . .

and by the time I ran inside to get the camera
the rainbow was gone.

But the puddles were still there
and a good time was had by these two.
