GIRLS NIGHT!!!

While the "FATHER'S and the SON'S" were camping, the "MOTHER'S and the DAUGHTER'S" enjoyed a pedicure night . . .

Katherine, Laurie and Savannah

Kelsey and Lexie

These daughters got fully pampered by their moms. Foot baths, leg massages, heel buffing,
and of course toe-nails were painted (sparkling stickers included)!!!!!

THE RESULTS. . .

Thanks to the MOTHER'S - Jen, Tory, Robyn and ME
and to the DAUGHTER's  - Kelsey, Lexie, Savannah, Laurie, Katherine, Taylor and little Kara
for filling our usually testosterone filled house with a little bit of GIRL POWER for a night!!!

(And in case you were worried - Kara's pedicure from when Aunt Jana and Jodie were here still hadn't worn off  - so don't think her toes didn't go unpainted!!!)

OUR SUMMER PROJECT

So this is what our yard looked like when we bought our house. . .
(This should tell you how much I loved the inside of the house if I was willing to actually purchase this yard!!!)

This is what happens when we are naive enough to think that by working in the yard 1 day a week (Saturday) that our children will have a yard by the time they go to college. . .

And this is 4 days  - yes 4 days later after calling TONY (the landscaper)!!!
THANK YOU TONY!!!!

Now instead of yard work every weekend we can enjoy family and friends over for barbeques - oh yah - now we don't have any money left to buy the barbeque or the patio set to sit on - NEXT SUMMER EVERYONE!!!

One Of These Things Is NOT Like The Other. . .

First I should probably explain. At Kindergarten registration for Kale one of the questions was "does anyone in your household speak fluent Spanish?" Without thinking I answered yes of course - (proud of my husband for his talent) - Well, in so doing Kale was forever placed in the BILINGUAL class! It's quite hilarious to get his class pictures back each year.

So here HE is getting his GOLD MEDAL - for reading 80 books in 8 weeks (not easy for the child or the mother - who must sign off on every single book making sure each book is at least 32 pages in length)

So while my pride for him was beaming this day - I couldn't stop laughing about the picture I had captured.

PLEASE TELL ME HE WILL HIT A GROWTH SPURT SOON!!!!

WONDERFUL WEEKEND

We had a wonderful weekend with a BAPTISM and a BLESSING. Our oldest, Kale was baptized on Saturday. We are so proud of him!

On Sunday we Blessed Karalyn - I have waited 8 years for a little girl to wear this dress!!

She looked perfect all the way down to her feet. We named her after my mom and these booties were the booties my mother wore when she was blessed.
We are so grateful for all our family and friends who celebrated this weekend with us. I calculated in my head and we had over 60 people in our house on Saturday afternoon after the Baptism. We are so blessed!
